Today was a really happy day. I got to wake up with Jon next to me! I felt badly though, since Saturday I was basically a zombie after traveling home all day, zonked out in a chair with him next to me and went to bed by 9:30. I hope he didn't take it personally, but my energy levels are really screwed up since surgery.
I went to do my exercises at the nearest Blink Fitness. I tried my best to get to 3 miles again, but I had to stop at 2. I was just in too much pain and I didn't want to push it. I went home to do my exercises. I did 30 reps of all that Dr. Sarah prescribed. I know I'm supposed to do them twice a day, but I'm just too sore and tired for the second round. I start PT with Dr. Danny tomorrow, so I'm sure he will kick my butt into gear. I'll be going 3x per week, so I'm sure that will mean PT homework is in my future on my "off" days. Man... this is sounding exhausting already.
Where I'm at symptom wise:
- Swelling all over my body; especially my lower abs and inner thighs
- Feeling of being bloated or filled with air all over my body
- Bad psoas/hip flexor/groin pain (especially on left side)
- Sores inside my mouth from the breathing tube inserted during surgery
- Skin rash near my incisions from the bandage tape
- Lower back pain/soreness
- Hamstring twitching and soreness
- More bruising on right inner thigh
- Lack of energy after doing so little
Today was a very special Sunday, as I had many visitors!! Jon, cousins Emmalee and Jaxon, Aunt Anny, sister Mego, special friends Gene and Geri, and roomie Julia! I even had special phone calls from my step-grandparents and Oksana and an awesome pep talk from my rehab buddy Claire in NC.
Thank you to all who call, text, message and visit. I couldn't get through these times without all of you. Keep the prayers for a smooth recovery coming, I'll need them as I attempt to go back to work at some point this coming week.
Love,
Ash xx
